There are some simple steps you can take to reduce the strain on your eyes. You can reduce the glare by changing the lighting in the room or moving away from a window if it causes glare on your screen. You can put a glare filter on your monitor. You can use glasses with a blue light lens. These glasses filter out blue light, which is thought to damage the eyes. Wearing blue light lens glasses can limit your exposure to blue light, which also can reduce eye strain. When working at a computer, you should give your eyes a break. A good rule to follow is the 20 20 20 rule.

Every 20 minutes, you look away from your computer and look at an item that is 20 minutes away for about 20 seconds.

You should have regular visits with your eye doctor to make sure your vision correction is what you need it to be. Your eye doctor can determine if you need a special pair of glasses that may help reduce your eye strain.
