What Causes Blurry Vision?

Like other body parts, our eyes change with age, potentially resulting in a gradual decline in vision. Conditions like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia may develop and create blurred vision at varied distances. Additionally, medical issues like diabetes and blood pressure changes can cause vision changes as well.

How Is Eyesight Measured?

After discussion of medical history and lifestyle needs, an eye doctor on our team conducts tests to better understand different aspects of your eye health and vision. If we detect any problems, such as refractive errors or eye diseases, we can create a personalized treatment plan to hopefully help restore your sight.

What Corrects Refractive Errors?

Updated eyeglass lenses or contacts resolve most mild distance and reading blurriness caused by conditions like myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. We may also prescribe special types of contacts or eye glasses for unique situations, such as if you suffer from dry eye or if you have a certain eye conditions, such as keratoconus.

When Is Surgery an Option?

We will try to avoid the need for surgery as best we can but sometime it is the best option. For example, if your blurry vision is due to severe cataracts or if we believe you are a good candidate for LASIK, we may recommend you under go surgery to help restore your eyesight.
